He’s been name checked by Jay-Z, and now legendary fashion designer Maison Martin Margiela is getting love from another music artist: Michael Stipe. The rocker, who fronts the and R.E.M, is teaming up with Maison Martin Margiela on a jewelry piece (yes – piece and not a line.) The sole product in the range is a “versatile” sterling silver number designed like a micro-cassette tape with an extendable “film.” The jewelry is quite versatile. It’s meant to be worn as everything from a belt to…an eye-patch (their suggestion, not ours!)  There will only be 199 pieces available for purchase at Maison Martin Margiela boutiques and select retailers. No word on the price of this fine creation.
