Honey Mag

Today was pretty cool. I went to sleep around 8am or so (insomnia much?) and slept til about noon. Woke up and set up all of my show CD’s for the next 3 days. Once I did that, I sat on the back porch and enjoyed the view for a little bit before I headed Downtown with my Houston folks and linked up with my publicist. On the way to meet up with her I linked up with XV and my dude Dara from Subconscious Threads near the Convention Center for a quick whatup and then headed out to the RubyHornet Castle for their Closed Sessions series that they brought down to Austin for the week.

The idea behind Closed Sessions is pretty ill. They bring the artists that they rock with to a studio and link us with other artists we may not have worked with before. Before the end of the night I had laid down a verse for a track with 2 of my homies from LA El Prez and Shawn Chrystopher. I missed the LRG/Elitaste show tonight at Aces Lounge because of the RubyHornet session but all in all it was still worth it.

Once I left RubyHornet I linked up with one of my boys that lives down here that I played Baseball with in College. We ended up running into Shake and Meka from 2dopeboyz and walked over with them to their showcase that Pac Div was headlining. After that we went back to 6th Street just to soak up the atmosphere a little bit more before heading back to the house that I’m writing this entry from.

My first show is tomorrow afternoon for Digiwaxx and I’m ready for it. Last year I went to the same showcase and was in the crowd. This year I have a 15 minute set. These shows are pretty big for me since I’m debuting some of the new project that I’ve been working on over the last few months: The Anti-Socialite. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how these crowds down here respond to my new music and tomorrow is the first test. Head in the clouds by all means.

I’m writing this at 5am after a full day, and tomorrow is gonna be even more full I’m sure. After my show, I’m gonna hit up the NahRight x SmokingSection show and a few others I’m sure. Just gotta mentally prepare for the day ahead and rock out on stage tomorrow afternoon. Til then I’m gonna get some sleep.
