Elizabeth Arden Intervene(s) at Just the Right Time
I think I'm pretty safe in saying that when most women of color think of make-up and skincare products, Elizabeth Arden is not the first brand name that usually comes to mind. This being so, I did not have very high expectations when I was contacted by the crew at Elizabeth Arden to try out a new product they had developed called Intervene Makeup SPF 15. The folks at Elizabeth Arden were so confident in the benefits of Intervene that they requested "before and after" photos from reviewers to prove their claims. Needless to say, I was absolutely mortified by that request and seriously had to take a minute before getting back to them on that. I mean, it's the middle of winter and this face has not seen the sun in months!! No one sees me "before"! But I agreed to take a look.
Elizabeth Arden calls Intervene Makeup SPF 15 a liquid makeup (aka "foundation" in my book). They claim "Smoother skin. Brighter complexion. A younger look." I'm listening!! They continue: Its "biodormin skincare benefits helps put a pause on aging signs. Micro-mineral pigment technology smoothes away imperfections for brighter, even-toned skin . . ." I have a big birthday coming up; they had me at "A younger look." Not to mention it's winter, and I'm pale, uneven and so dry that even my teeth feel dry (a lot of people don't understand that 'pale' comment, but ya'll know what I mean). And besides, my custom blend was running out . . . .
Well, the results are in and I gotta give it to them. I've used it for several days now and while I don't think I'm looking any younger yet, it does feel very light on my skin; not heavy and drying, which can be the kiss of death when it comes to wrinkles. It goes on very smoothly and eliminates the need for additional fixes. My blemishes do not jump off of my face and my tone looks smoother and more even. It even helped under my tired eyes:

Other benefits:
- 100% oil free
- Protects skin from environmental challenges with antioxidant vitamins C and E (great for city living which can be so environmentally challenging!)
- Provides SPF 15 sun protection (crucial no matter what your shade)
- Non-acnegenic and non-comedogenic
Intervene is going to help me through this winter.
