Looking for a new do this Spring? Well, I have a bangin’ do for you–how about some bangs? While the Beyonce-licious weaves were all the rage last year, short styles and bangs are what’s in this year. In other words, you can actually wear your real hair *smirk , smirk* this year….well, at least in the front…..

The straight bang cut is a classic. First, let’s start with member of the five-head club, myself being included:

Tyra Banks: although she’s America’s most well known supermodel, even she can have bad hair days–but they can all be prevented by covering her dome with some simple bangs…

Christina Ricci: note to Christina–please keep this hairstyle! It complements her diamond shaped face and deep set eyes. Just say NO to pulled back hair!

When you have an extremely large forehead that makes of the majority of your face, bangs even and balance your facial proportions. Speaking as an official member of the five-head crew myself, I can attest that bangs do make a difference!

Although she is not a member of the Big Head club, Heidi’s straight bang is fierce. Because of her even facial proportions, she can pretty much get away with any cut….

The bob cut with a straight bang is now resurging. It is great for oval faces of medium length. Petites should be awry of this look. Too much hair on and around your face will drown and overpower your beauty. Check out some bang “dos” here:

Katie Holmes: I do have to say, this half of TomKat has DEFINITELY stepped up her style game since jumping the broom….

Rihanna: pre-the BIG CHOP. Although she has rounded features, the bob makes her face look even rounder…she lucks out because her face is longer than it is wider…..

The fringe bang creates a much softer look than the straight bang. It can be used to soften your appearance or even for a more youthful look.

Kate Moss: The non-aging beauty is at it again with her Michelle Pfieffer a la Scarface look. I have to admit, it does look nice on her….

Reese Witherspoon: Now this is a woman who knows which cuts look good on her. Her heart shaped face is highly complemented by the fringe bang and long layers.

The asymmetrical bang also adds a layer of softness, but can also add an air of edginess if styled the right way.

Eve: The pitbull in a skirt looks much more feminine and dainty (imagine that?) with this side-swept bang

Rihanna: Post-BIG Chop..she is going for a much edgier look as she goes through her “Good Girl Gone Bad” phase. I believe she achieves the look here…

Kelis: As for the original Good Girl Gone Bad and pre-Mushroom, Kelis looks fierce in this asymmetrical bob cut (looks familiar doesn’t it—Kelis has ALWAYS been a trendsetter!)
